Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to preheat for 5 minutes, ensuring even cooking when the chicken is added.
  2. Prepare the chicken: In a bowl, combine the cubed chicken with cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and 1 teaspoon soy sauce. Stir well to coat the chicken pieces evenly.
  3. Prepare the air fryer basket: Spray the bottom of the preheated air fryer basket with oil using a spray bottle to prevent sticking.
  4. Air fry the chicken: Arrange the coated chicken pieces in a single layer in the basket. Spray lightly with oil on top. Cook at 350°F for 5 minutes, then flip the chicken pieces over and continue cooking for another 3 to 5 minutes until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Make the sauce: While the chicken cooks, mix the honey, chicken broth, rice vinegar, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of black pepper in a bowl.
  6. Sauté the garlic and thicken the sauce: Heat a pan over medium heat and melt the butter. Add chopped garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the prepared sauce mixture and cook for approximately 2 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
