Blackberry Goat Cheese Puff Pastry Twists Recipe

  • Author: Thomas
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12-14 twists 1x

Description

These Blackberry Goat Cheese Puff Pastry Twists combine tart blackberry jam with creamy goat cheese wrapped in flaky puff pastry. Lightly sweetened and dusted with cinnamon and sugar, these elegant twists are perfect for a brunch or dessert served alongside a refreshing berry beverage.

Ingredients

Scale

Blackberry Jam

  • 10 oz. Frozen or Fresh Blackberries
  • 4 tbsp. Honey
  • 2 tbsp. Flour
  • 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon

Puff Pastry Twists

  • 1 sheet Frozen Puff Pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz. Goat Cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp. Granulated Cane Sugar
  • 1 Egg, beaten

To Serve

  • BUBBL’R Triple Berry Breez’r (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Make the Blackberry Jam: In a saucepan, combine the blackberries, honey, ground cinnamon, and flour. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes until thick and jam-like. Add 1 tablespoon of water if too thick. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  2. Prepare Oven and Baking Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large rimmed baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy clean-up.
  3. Mix Filling: In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of the prepared blackberry jam with the softened goat cheese. Stir well until fully blended and smooth.
  4. Assemble Puff Pastry: Lay the thawed puff pastry sheet flat on a lightly floured surface. Spread the blackberry and goat cheese mixture evenly over one half of the pastry. Fold the pastry in half lengthwise to cover the filling.
  5. Cut and Twist: Slice the folded pastry into ½-inch wide strips. Take each strip and twist it several times, then place them spaced evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Glaze and Sugar: Brush the beaten egg over each pastry twist to give a golden color when baked. Sprinkle the granulated cane sugar evenly over the twists for added crunch and sweetness.
  7. Bake: Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown, flaky, and cooked through.
  8. Serve: Allow the twists to cool slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature alongside a glass of BUBBL’R Triple Berry Breez’r for a perfect pairing.

Notes

  • Using frozen blackberries is fine; just thaw before cooking.
  • Ensure puff pastry is fully thawed before working to avoid cracking when twisting.
  • For a vegan version, substitute goat cheese with vegan cheese and use a plant-based egg wash or milk alternative.
  • The pastry twists are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different sweetness profile.
