Instructions

  1. Season the Steak: Place the cubed sirloin steak in a large bowl. Sprinkle with kosher salt and black pepper, then toss well to ensure all pieces are evenly seasoned.

  3. Add Aromatics: Once all the steak is seared and in the slow cooker, add the thinly sliced sweet onion and garlic. Gently toss these with the steak bites for even distribution.
  4. Add Liquids and Flavoring: Pour 1 cup of unsalted beef stock into the slow cooker. Sprinkle the au jus gravy mix evenly over the mixture. Top with thin slices of unsalted butter to enrich the sauce as it cooks.
  5. Slow Cook: Cover the slow cooker and set to high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours. If possible, stir every 30 minutes to distribute flavors and prevent sticking.
