Description
These Favorite Yogurt Melts are a simple and delicious frozen treat perfect for babies and toddlers. Made with baby yogurt or a mix of plain Greek yogurt and baby food puree, they are easy to prepare and a great way to introduce new flavors and textures to little ones.
Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 4 ounce container baby yogurt OR
- 1/2 cup plain whole milk Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons any baby food puree
Instructions
- Prepare the baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the yogurt from sticking and to make removal easy.
- Fill the piping bag: Add the yogurt mixture into a zip-top bag and seal it tightly. Cut off one bottom corner to create a small opening for squeezing out the yogurt.
- Form yogurt dots: Gently squeeze out small dots of yogurt on the prepared baking sheet in rows. Aim for about the size of a dime, or smaller like a pencil eraser, depending on your preference.
- Freeze the melts: Place the tray into the freezer and freeze for at least 2 hours or up to overnight to allow the yogurt dots to solidify.
- Serve the yogurt melts: When ready to serve, remove the tray from the freezer and let the yogurt melts sit at room temperature for 3 to 5 minutes to slightly soften so they aren’t frozen solid. Check one to ensure it melts easily on the tongue before giving to babies and toddlers, who can pick them up with their hands.
Notes
- You can customize flavors by mixing different baby food purees with Greek yogurt.
- Make sure the dots are small enough for babies to eat safely.
- Store leftover yogurt melts in an airtight container in the freezer for up to one week.
- Always supervise babies and toddlers while eating these to prevent choking.
