Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon Recipe

  • Author: Thomas
  • Total Time: 24 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon recipe combines tender, flaky salmon filets with a rich, sweet, and slightly spicy honey garlic sauce. Perfectly seasoned and broiled to caramelized perfection, it offers a deliciously balanced dish that’s quick to prepare and ideal for a healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1/4 tsp blackening seasoning (optional)

Sauce

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Season all sides evenly with kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and blackening seasoning if using. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Prepare Oven for Broiling: Adjust your oven rack to the middle position to ensure even heat distribution. Preheat the broiler. Positioning the rack in the middle prevents the sauce from burning during broiling.
  3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, add the butter and olive oil. Once the butter is melted and hot, stir in minced garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice. Cook the mixture for about 30 seconds until the sauce is warmed and fragrant.
  4. Sear the Salmon: Place the salmon filets skin-side down in the skillet with the sauce. Cook for approximately 3 minutes on medium-high heat. During this time, frequently baste the tops of the salmon with the sauce from the pan using a spoon to maximize flavor and moisture.
  5. Broil the Salmon: Transfer the skillet to the oven under the broiler. Broil the salmon for 5 to 6 minutes, basting once during this time with the pan sauce. Broiling caramelizes the glaze while cooking the salmon through to the desired doneness.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven carefully. Optionally, garnish the glazed salmon with minced fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust broiler rack to middle position to prevent sauce burning.
  • Use skin-on salmon for better texture and easier handling during cooking, but skin removal is optional.
  • Basting often helps build a rich glaze and keeps salmon moist.
  • Blackening seasoning is optional but adds a smoky depth to the dish.
  • Leftover salmon can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
