  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 9 to 12 bars 1x

Description

These Lemon Pie Bars are a delightful dessert featuring a flaky crescent roll crust layered with creamy sweetened cream cheese and tangy lemon pie filling, topped with a sweet lemon glaze. Easy to prepare and baked to golden perfection, they make a perfect treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon extract

Pie Bars

  • 1 can Crescent Rolls (8 rolls total)
  • 1 can lemon pie filling (approximately 21 oz)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the lemon pie bars.
  2. Prepare Cream Cheese Mixture: Using a hand mixer, beat the softened cream cheese with vanilla extract and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Prepare Baking Pan: Spray an 8×8 inch baking pan with non-stick spray to prevent sticking and ease removal of the bars.
  4. Layer the Pie Bars: Lay half of the crescent rolls (4 rolls) evenly on the bottom of the prepared pan to form the base crust. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent rolls. Next, spread the lemon pie filling gently over the cream cheese layer. Finally, top with the remaining crescent rolls to cover the filling.
  5. Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top crescent rolls turn a golden brown color.
  6. Prepare Glaze: While the pie bars are baking, combine 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, and 1/4 teaspoon lemon extract in a small bowl and whisk until smooth to create the lemon glaze.
  7. Glaze and Cool: Once the pie bars have completely cooled, drizzle the lemon glaze evenly over the top.
  8. Serve: Cut into bars and enjoy this sweet and tangy dessert!

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing and a smooth texture.
  • You can substitute lemon extract with fresh lemon juice for a more natural lemon flavor, adjusting the glaze thickness accordingly.
  • Let the bars cool completely before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting and running off.
  • The crescent rolls provide a flaky crust, but if preferred, a pre-made pie crust can be used as a variation.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
