Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375° Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the cobbler.
- Melt Butter: Place 1/4 cup of unsalted butter into a 9×9-inch baking dish and put it in the oven to melt as it preheats.
- Cook Peaches: In a saucepan, combine 1/4 cup sugar, peeled and sliced peaches, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly, until the peaches soften and release their juices, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
- Prepare Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir in 1 cup milk just until the dry ingredients are moistened and the batter is smooth.
- Assemble Cobbler: Carefully remove the melted butter pan from the oven. Pour the batter over the hot melted butter in the pan without stirring. Next, spoon the peach mixture over the batter, also without stirring.
- Bake: Bake the cobbler in the preheated oven at 375° Fahrenheit for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and set.
- Serve: Allow the cobbler to cool slightly, then serve warm or at room temperature for a comforting dessert experience.
