St. Patrick’s Day Oreo Pops Recipe

  • Author: Thomas
  • Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Yield: 24 Oreo Pops 1x

Description

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with these festive and colorful Oreo Pops. Golden Oreo Thins are blended with cream cheese and tinted green to create a marbled dough, then dipped in melted semi-sweet chocolate and decorated with rainbow gummy candies and gold sprinkles. These sweet, fun-to-make treats are perfect for holiday parties and make an eye-catching dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Oreo Mixture

  • 1 package Golden Oreo Thins (13.1 ounces)
  • 6 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 6 drops green food coloring

Coating and Decoration

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 12 rainbow gummy candies
  • 1/4 cup gold sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: Place Golden Oreo Thins in a food processor and pulse until crumbled with a texture resembling sand.
  2. Mix Dough: In a large bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with softened cream cheese. Stir well until a soft dough forms.
  3. Color Dough: Divide the dough in half, add green food coloring to one half, and blend thoroughly until the color is evenly distributed.
  4. Form Balls: Split each colored dough half into 12 small pieces. Roll one yellow and one green piece together to create a marbled ball with your hands.
  5. Insert Sticks: Place the balls on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Use a teaspoon to make an indent at the top of each ball, then insert a popsicle stick or rod into the center.
  6. Freeze: Freeze the Oreo balls for about 20 minutes while preparing the chocolate coating.
  7. Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth.
  8. Dip Pops: Using a fork or spoon for support, dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, coating it completely. Let excess chocolate drip off before placing them back on the parchment paper.
  9. Decorate: Before the chocolate sets, garnish each pop with a rainbow gummy candy and sprinkle with gold sprinkles.
  10. Chill: Refrigerate the decorated Oreo pops for about an hour until the chocolate hardens. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing.
  • You can substitute rainbow gummy candies with any colorful edible decorations of your choice.
  • Store the pops in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • For faster chocolate melting, stir the chocolate well between microwave intervals.
  • These pops can be made a day ahead and refrigerated until serving.
